{"id":64699,"date":"2026-03-17T14:04:56","date_gmt":"2026-03-17T13:04:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.usd.de\/?p=64699"},"modified":"2026-03-17T14:04:58","modified_gmt":"2026-03-17T13:04:58","slug":"security-advisories-kofax-communication-server-arcgis-arcade","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.usd.de\/en\/security-advisories-kofax-communication-server-arcgis-arcade\/","title":{"rendered":"Security Advisories on Kofax Communication Server and ArcGIS Arcade"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/herolab.usd.de\/en\/our-analysts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">pentest professionals<\/a>&nbsp;at&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/herolab.usd.de\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">usd HeroLab<\/a>&nbsp;examined <strong>Kofax Communication Server (KCS) <\/strong>and <strong>ArcGIS scripting language Arcade<\/strong> as part of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.usd.de\/en\/pentest\/pentest-webapplications\/\">web application pentests<\/a>&nbsp;and identified several vulnerabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Two of the vulnerabilities result from insufficient validation of file-related parameters in the KCS Portal and enable path traversal attacks, which allow arbitrary files to be read from the server as well as the upload and execution of manipulated files. Another vulnerability affects ArcGIS Arcade scripts, which, despite existing restriction mechanisms, allow arbitrary JavaScript to be executed in JavaScript runtime environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The vulnerabilities were reported to the vendors as part of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/herolab.usd.de\/en\/responsible-disclosure\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Responsible Disclosure Policy<\/a>.
