The Computer Science Student Council of TU Darmstadt has awarded Prof. Dr. Michael Waidner and our colleague Maximilian Müller as the best lecture of the winter semester 2025/26 for their course "Information Security Management".
The prizes for the best lecture and the best exercise are awarded annually on the basis of the students' course evaluations. The award was presented during the Summer Colloquium 2026 of the Department of Computer Science.
The course "Information Security Management" teaches the basics and methods of information security management and uses practical examples to show how organizational and procedural security requirements are implemented in companies.
The promotion of young cyber security professionals has been an important part of our commitment for many years. In addition to guest lectures at colleges and universities in Germany, we regularly contribute our practical experience to academic teaching. These include the lecture "Information Security Management" at TU Darmstadt and the Hacker Contest, which we hold every summer and winter semester together with students. Some of our current colleagues had their first contact with us through exactly such events.
For Maximilian Müller, it is not the first award of this kind. He already received the prize for the best lecture from the Computer Science Student Council for the lecture "Information Security Management" in the winter semester 2022/23.
"I have enjoyed the exchange with students for years. Cyber Security thrives on well-trained junior staff, which is why teaching is an important part of my work. I am all the more pleased that the lecture was once again rated so positively."
Maximilian Müller, Principal usd Security Consulting
