From 7 to 9 October 2026, the next.app devCon will take place at the CityCube in Berlin. The conference brings together experts in software development, app security, and mobile technologies and provides a forum for discussing current trends, best practices, and challenges in modern app development.
Our colleagues Tobias Hamann and Fabian Brenner from the usd HeroLab will also be attending. As part of the Mobile Application Security Conference (masCon), they will hold a session on “Turning Your App into Our Spy – Android App Vulnerabilities in Practice”.Using a zero-day vulnerability in the Android app Element X as an example, they demonstrate how seemingly minor vulnerabilities can escalate into serious attack scenarios. In addition, they explain typical vulnerabilities in mobile applications, the unique challenges of modern mobile ecosystems, and how companies can use an attacker’s perspective to gain insights that will help them develop secure apps.
