Supporting digital education through hardware donation

5. May 2023

The use of information technology (IT), such as computers and (smart) phones, is an indispensable part of our society. It not only makes our everyday lives easier, but is also a fundamental part of our education and necessary for participation in many areas of life. However, not everyone can afford a computer or a (smart) phone, which leads to discrimination and even exclusion from various areas of life.

Here we make a contribution for more equal opportunities, organized by the usd Social Responsibility Circle. Thus, we donated 13 tower computers and 13 monitors to Computerwerk Deutschland e. V.. This donation is the beginning of a long-term donation cooperation in which we will donate hardware no longer needed by usd at regular intervals.

Computerwerk Darmstadt e. V. is a charitable and non-profit organization whose aim is to repair and pass on computers to people in need and non-profit organizations. In addition, they share knowledge about computers and technology in workshops.
