Information Security Management: Teaching Cooperation between TU Darmstadt and usd AG Continues

29. October 2024

Sharing specialist knowledge with future security experts is an important part of our mission. That is why our colleagues are regularly engaged at German universities. In the winter semester 2024/25, the teaching cooperation between the Technical University of Darmstadt and usd AG will take place again. Our colleague Maximilian Müller, Managing Consultant at usd AG, supervises the lecture Information Security Management at the Department of Computer Science.

The lecture differs from most other security courses at TU Darmstadt in that it does not focus on the technical or formal aspects of IT security. Instead, the focus is on the organizational and procedural aspects of information security. The approximately 150 students delve deep into the basics of information security, e.g. ISMS in accordance with ISO 27001, and learn all about risk management, incident management and audit management. Maximilian Müller brings these theoretical concepts to life through numerous practical examples.

It is important to me that the topics that employees encounter in information security management are covered at university. This gives students a comprehensive overview of information security - from the organizational to the formal and technical aspects - so that they are better prepared for the business world. I also really enjoy the interactive teaching and working with the students every year.

Maximilian Müller, Managing Consultant, usd AG

We wish you a successful semester and an enjoyable lecture!
