Opening Event of CST Academy Complete Success

7. June 2018

Biometry – the human is key
On 24 & 25 May, the CST Academy opening event took place in the Triforum Conference Center in Neu-Isenburg. To start off, Prof. Dr. Wolfgang König (Head of the CST Academy) introduced the concept of the new CST Academy.
During the exciting and vividly-held lectures, Prof. Dr. Christoph Busch (Hochschule Darmstadt) gave the participants insights into the mechanisms of the most important biometric authentication methods used in commercial systems today. Prof. Dr. König also took the opportunity to show the participants around the new premises of the CST Academy, which will be built on 500 m².
We look forward to further promoting the exchange of knowledge with experts from the worlds of business, science and politics at the CST Academy – soon to be hosted in our own premises in Neu-Isenburg.
Prof. Dr. Christoph Busch addressed a topic that is highly relevant to our times. The opening event of the CST Academy was a complete success.

The voice of a participant:
“Rarely have I learned so much in 1.5 days”
I have been working with start ups in the field of cybersecurity for some time. Of course, biometric methods play an important role here, so I was looking for a way to get a good overview. I came across the biometrics seminar of the CST Academy.
My already high expectations were clearly exceeded. Prof. Dr. Christoph Busch has vividly conveyed his immense knowledge on the subject of biometry with a great deal of dedication. The result was an excellent balance between theory and practice – several specific use cases were discussed – in particular, which approaches have which concrete advantages and disadvantages from a technical and economic point of view – and what they mean for the user experience. The seminar was interactive in the best sense of the word and Prof. Dr. Busch encouraged us participants again and again to discuss questions among each other.
Fortunately, the documentation material, which we could download promptly, is on an excellent level, easy to understand, and it contains lots of references for in-depth research. Certainly at the level of a very good textbook – but up-to-date.
Last but not least, the event was perfectly organised by the CST Academy. I saved the address to my navigation system and I’m looking forward to the next opportunity to learn something there.
